Amaya was abducted by her father, Lester Devon Pernell, after a domestic dispute. Pernell is said to have forced entry into the residence and physically assaulted the mother of the child. He then took the child and fled.
Amaya is 30 lbs., 3’ tall with brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing bright colored striped pants and a white long sleeved shirt. Lester is a light skinned black male, 6’5” tall, 200 lbs. with black hair, brown eyes and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a long black dress coat and jeans.The suspect may be driving a gold 1991 Mercury Cougar. It is a two-door vehicle with a dent in the driver’s side door. The license plate is CFA0330 (Michigan). The suspect has a prior history of domestic violence.
The suspect may be headed to a family member’s residence in Detroit.If anyone sees Pernell or the child they are asked to call 911. Anyone with tip information can contact the East Lansing Police Department at (517) 319-6852.
