Amber Alert Canceled For 5-Year Old Michigan Girl
It is with great grief that I must report that the charred remains of a burnt body fitting her description have been determined, through DNA, to be those of 5-year old Mariha Smith. The Amber Alert has been canceled. The child died of asphyxiation prior to being set on fire.

AMBER ALERT: 5-YEAR OLD MICHIGAN GIRL
The Detroit Police Department is investigating an incident of an endangered missing child MARIHA TRENICE SMITH from 3827 Burlingame Street, Detroit, Michigan.
MARIHA TRENICE SMITH's description is as follows: black female, 5 years old, 2 feet 5 inches, 26 pounds black eyes and black hair and was wearing a Black t-shirt with pink flowers on it and blue jean pants. MARIHA TRENICE SMITH was last seen by her mother sleeping on the family home floor between 3:00am and noon on Sunday July 24, 2011.

A fire, not far from her house, broke out. A child's body was found inside. Now Mariah's family is waiting to hear if that child is Mariah.

The Amber Alert issued for 9-month old Daniella Mammaro of Phillipsburg, New Jersey has been canceled. The child is safe. Her father, Damon S. Mammaro, has been taken into custody.

The New Jersey State Police has activated an AMBER Alert*** The suspect, Damon, took his child, Daniella, on Friday, July 22nd at 5:40 pm from 43 Siegreabe Avenue in Phillipsburg, NJ (Hunterdon County). The suspect and child are traveling in the listed vehicle. The child's infant seat is behind the driver's seat.

U.S. Marshals Arrest Another Fugitive Who Has Endangered Children
The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force sponsored by the United States Marshals Service is announcing the arrest of Carlos Mireles Jr.
Mireles was born 07/1966 and listed an address in the 700 block of Jennings Street, San Antonio, Texas.
Mireles has previous arrests for drug possession, resisting and evading arrest, burglary of a vehicle, family violence, assault causing bodily injury, injury to a child/elderly/disable with intent to cause bodily harm.
In October 2010, Carlos Mireles was arrested for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. A bond was set in the amount of $75,000. Mireles was further ordered to house arrest and required to wear a Global Positioning System (GPS), commonly referred to in the justice system as an ankle monitor.
May 2011, Mireles decided that he did not have to abide by the court ordered requirements and cut the device off. Immediately a warrant was issued for the arrest of Mireles. The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in San Antonio was asked to assist with locating and apprehending Mireles.
On Thursday, July 14, 2011 credible information was developed that lead task force members to the 700 block of S.W. 19th Street, San Antonio. Surveillance of the residence lead investigators to believe Mireles was using this location to hide from law enforcement authorities. At approximately 9 p.m. members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force made entry into the residence. Once inside Mireles was found hiding in a back room. Mireles was arrested without incident. Also arrested was Melanie Felan, the girlfriend of Mireles and another associate of his.
Inside the residence, task force members found drug paraphernalia and weapons.
Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas said, “The investigative efforts of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force to protect the children of our community will always be tireless and unwavering.”
Participating agencies of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force are as follows: Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Comal County Sheriff’s Office, Bexar County Fire Marshal’s Office, San Antonio Independent School District – Police Department, San Antonio Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Department of Criminal Justice – Office of Inspector General, Texas State Attorney General’s Office – Sex Offender Fugitive Unit and the United States Marshals Service.

AMBER ALERT CANCELED FOR 4-MONTH OLD MASSACHUSETTS BOY
The Amber Alert issued for 4-month old Raymond Slocum and his mother has been canceled. Raymond and his and his 25-year old mother, Loretta Colegrove, were found safe in a house in New Hampshire. The boy's father was apprehended and is being held for questioning in the murder of three people. He is also being held on kidnapping charges.

The U.S. Marshals have added a convicted child molester to their 15 Most Wanted fugitive list
The U.S. Marshals have added a convicted child molester to their 15 Most Wanted fugitive list.
Richard Carl Heeringa is wanted in Colorado by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshals led Fugitive Location and Apprehension Group Task Force.
Following a two-week trial in April 2010, a jury found Heeringa guilty of 17 counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust and failure to register as a sex offender. He is facing more than 500 years in prison.
Heeringa fled in the middle of the night on April 15, 2010, the same day the jury reached their guilty verdict. He has not been seen since.
Heeringa, 55, has two other sex assault cases pending in Colorado and previously served 12 years in prison in Michigan following a sex assault conviction there.
Shortly after being released from prison in 2004, Heeringa met a single mother from Colorado. In 2005, he moved to Colorado and began living with the mother and her daughter. He soon began sexually abusing the 12 year old and continued the abuse until January 2008, when the child came forward with allegations of sexual abuse.
Authorities do not believe Heeringa will change his criminal ways and want to find him before he victimizes another young girl.
“Richard Heeringa is a predator, who has a track record of preying on young girls,” said Geoff Shank, Acting Assistant Director of the U.S. Marshals Investigative Operations Division. “We will make every effort to track this criminal down and bring him to justice.”
Heeringa has a history of working in construction and had his own construction company in the past. He is very self-sufficient and could easily make a living as a handyman. He is in good physical shape, skilled in martial arts and has been a hunter in the past, so he could live in the wilderness for a while.
He was born in Michigan and has family there. He also has ties to Georgia and California.
“This man is very dangerous and we need the public’s help to bring Herringa to justice,” said Sheriff David A. Weaver.
Heeringa is 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs 200 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He has scars on his abdomen, right knee, upper left arm and face.
Heeringa is considered armed and dangerous.
A reward of up to $25,000 is offered for information leading directly to Heeranga’s arrest.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the nearest U.S. Marshals office or the U.S. Marshals Service Communications Center at 1-800-336-0102.

Amber Alert Canceled For 2-Yaer Old Georgia Boy
The Amber Alert Issued for 2-year old Cameron Thomas Marsh has been canceled. The Coweta County toddler was found, with his mother, in North Carolina. The child's mother, Laura Anne Marsh, 26, of Moreland, was arrested in Gaston County, N.C. after a truck driver, who had seen a description of her car on overhead message signs, called 911.
