May 2011 Is A Great Sky Month (for early risers)

If you are one of those that gets up before the sun, the May skies will put on a show just for you. So, grab a cup of coffee and look to the eastern skies about one half hour before sunrise on these dates:

May 11 - Venus and Jupiter converge. (you'll continue to see Venus in broad daylight)
May 13th - Mercury, Venus and Jupiter form a bright celestial triangle--almost equilateral.
May 20 - Mars, Venus, and Mercury form a triangle.
May 30 - A crescent moon will be seen with Mercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter.
